PI Documenter
PI mappings are often difficult to document and the documentation is often split up into separate parts. There is a mapping in Excel, developed by the business and possible a technical documentation owned by the developers. The synchronization between this is often missing.
The PI documenter helps to solve this issue, with an ability to generate documentation in an easy readably fashion. The PI documentation service is currently in Beta, but help us improve it.
The documenter is a free service and does not require any registration. We would like to keep it that way.
What are the users saying:
“I would like to congratulate Daniel and the team at Figaf for their great PI Documenter tool. It has saved me a great deal of time on a project with tight deadlines – James Everson, Wild Futures Consulting”
The process is simple.
- Export you mapping as an XIM file. This is done by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ 0 and then save the file to a location.
- Upload the XIM file to the website using the form below.
- Select the output format
- If have created a documentation on the mapping earlier upload the old Excel document and the comments will be copied to the new document.
Then you have a excel document like the following.
We do not store any information about you mapping once we have delivered the Excel document to you. We might in the future gatherer some statistical information about mapping, like sizes and complexity, but you will be able to deselect this.
If you want to update your documentation at a later stage, only write in the comment area.
This tool has been released as open source. With this you can modify the templates and run the system on your own PC. See the products page for more information.
Do you have any suggestion to how to improve the service or problems send a mail to documenter@figaf.com.
