Seeburger mapping migration
Your Seeburger message mappings use a different XML structure than SAP's B2B add-on, so every mapping has to be changed before you can switch.
Seeburger’s XML representation of EDI formats is different from the one used by SAP’s B2B add-on: the root node is different, and so is the way groups and some field names are made. Every message mapping therefore has to be migrated before you can move from Seeburger to the B2B add-on on SAP PI/PO. The Figaf Seeburger Migration Tool does that automatically, and is used by SAP PI/PO teams replacing Seeburger.
How it works
The tool connects to your SAP PI system and converts the mapping metadata, not the logic you built.
- You select a message mapping and the external definition (B2B add-on structure) it should use. You can search for mappings and schemas.
- The tool downloads the mapping metadata, finds the Seeburger XSD in the mapping and compares it with the B2B add-on format. It works out, for example, that /LIST/S_UNB/S_UNH/G_SSG25/S_LIN/D_1082 becomes /INVOIC96A/M_INVOIC/G_SG25/S_LIN/D_1082. The comparison is algorithmic, so nothing special is needed for different message types and versions.
- It converts every occurrence of the old path to the new one, and warns you if the structure has a difference it cannot account for, or if there are other errors.
- You select Update to upload the new metadata. You then open and save the mapping in SAP PI so it compiles.
- Formats. X12, EDIFACT, VDA, Tradacoms and Odette, covering all formats of SAP’s B2B add-on.
- Your functions stay. The functions in the mapping are kept, since only the use of the XSD changes. Seeburger user-defined functions may still need an update, because the B2B add-on handles variables and counters differently.
- Custom rules. If something goes wrong in the conversion, Figaf support can add custom rules that fit the conversion of your specific mappings.
- Licensing. You get a license when you start the application, and it counts each mapping converted, so you can see the licenses you have used.
