Requirements
Check these before you install Figaf Tool. What you need depends on how you run it.
1. Running the jar file
Figaf Tool can be run on a local machine or a real server. Required setup is viewed in the following table:
| Local machine | Real server | |
|---|---|---|
OS |
Linux, Windows 8.1/10/11 |
|
Java version |
Java 21 |
|
Server configs |
RAM: minimum 2GB free memory |
RAM: minimum 8GB (recommended 16GB). CPUs depend on the number of tests and frequency to be performed. |
Database |
PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL or H2. |
PostgreSQL, Oracle, MSSQL or H2. If you run Figaf Tool in a Hyperscaler (AWS, Google, Azure), it is recommended to use the managed PostgreSQL database services. |
SSL |
- |
Certificate can be installed on the server to encrypt communication. |
2. Running a Docker container
You need a working Docker installation and a PostgreSQL, Oracle or MS SQL Server database the container can reach. The Java runtime is part of the image, so nothing has to be installed on the host, and the memory and CPU guidance above applies to the container.
3. Deploying to SAP BTP
You need a subaccount with the PostgreSQL entitlement - standard and storage plans - and the Cloud Foundry Runtime entitlement, a space to deploy into, the Cloud Foundry CLI version 8, and a Docker Hub account to pull the image with. SAP BTP provides the database, so there’s no separate database to prepare.
Allow 4 GB of instance memory (3700 MB on a trial account) and 10 GB of disk.
See SAP BTP deployment.
